The Impact Of Rural Tourism On Farmers Sustainable Livelihood And Coordinated Development (Case Study Jiwodu Village In Yangshuo, Guangxi As An Example)
Rural tourism is regarded as a feasible strategy for realizing sustainable rural economic
development and poverty reduction, and has significant economic, social, cultural and
ecological benefits. However, rural tourism, as an external force, disrupts the livelihood
capital and livelihood strategies of farm households and significantly affects their sustainable
livelihoods. This paper applies a sustainable livelihoods analysis framework and adopts the
Participatory Rural Appraisal methodology (PRA methodology) and a combination of
qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess the impacts of rural tourism on the livelihoods
of farm households from a micro perspective, taking Jiwodu village in Guangxi as an example.
